elementor-size-default\">Biography<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e66cfc2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e66cfc2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"558\">I am Jos\u00e9 Parra, an international performing artist specialized in small-scale theatre. My work combines clown, physical theatre and text, and is characterized by emotional closeness, humor and a carefully crafted aesthetic. Trained in London, where I lived for 20 years, I have drawn from a wide range of techniques and collaborations, from Lecoq\u2019s physical theatre to Decroux\u2019s corporeal mime. I have worked with companies such as Moving Pieces and artists like Jamie Wood, with whom I co-created my solo show <em data-start=\"529\" data-end=\"557\">Men Don't Blush<\/em>.<\/p><h3 data-section-id=\"1t57951\" data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"575\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What I do<\/span><\/h3><p data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"935\">I create solo shows that, with minimal resources, take audiences on an epic and emotional journey. I blend humor, fiction and reality to explore contemporary themes such as identity, grief and masculinity. My work combines clown, text, physical theatre and theatrical play, creating intimate, poetic and deeply human experiences.<\/p><h3 data-section-id=\"1eweypi\" data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"953\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How I do it<\/span><\/h3><p data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1353\">I work in collaboration with other artists, such as Jamie Wood and Dominic Kennedy. The creative process is long and immersive, based on improvisation, the use of masks, movement and personal exploration. I am always looking for accessible and playful ways to share discoveries, through an interdisciplinary approach that blurs traditional genres and prioritizes connection with the audience.<\/p><h3 data-section-id=\"e2x38u\" data-start=\"1355\" data-end=\"1369\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Who It\u2019s For<\/span><\/h3><p data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1812\">My shows are created for curious people who want to be moved, laugh at the absurd and recognize themselves in vulnerability. Age matters less than the willingness to let go, look inward and play. I create work for those who seek something more than entertainment in theatre: an intimate and close experience that speaks about who we are, what we keep silent, what hurts us and also what saves us.<\/p><p data-start=\"1814\" data-end=\"2165\">Some shows are aimed primarily at adult audiences, while others are suitable for all audiences and can also be enjoyed by children and young people. I want to reach diverse audiences, without requiring any particular theatre knowledge, only the openness needed to share an emotional and honest journey and laugh at who we are.<\/p><h3 data-section-id=\"71kwse\" data-start=\"2167\" data-end=\"2176\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Where<\/span><\/h3><p data-start=\"2178\" data-end=\"2596\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">I am an international artist who presents shows in Spanish, English and Catalan. I work with minimal scenography and portable formats that allow me to adapt to a wide variety of spaces: alternative theatres, festivals, small venues, unconventional settings and even the street.
